Wilcox Spends Afternoon with 10 Special Youth

May 21, 2013. Since undergoing major heart surgery last year, Chris Wilcox has adopted a “make every day count” attitude and he is encouraging others to do the same. As a passionate advocate for heart health, Wilcox jumped at the chance to help raise funds for the American Heart Association’s Boston Heart Ball. A lucky family purchased the opportunity for their children to attend a VIP basketball clinic with Chris and share a meal at the Celtic’s training center on Monday, May 13th.

Celebrating The One Year Mark

Boston, Massachusetts. April 11, 2013. Friday, March 29th was a big day for Boston Celtics forward Chris Wilcox as he celebrated the one year mark since his open heart surgery. Wilcox received frightening news in February 2012 that he is facing a life threatening heart condition. At the young age of 29, the news came in the midst of a solid basketball season for Wilcox who was leading the Celtics in field goal percentage and averaging 17.2 minutes per game.

Cruel Mystery Bus Tour & Congress Makes Strides

March 26, 2013. Wilcox and the Celtics were not the only ones with a packed schedule for March, as the Lupus Foundation of America continued their Cruel Mystery National Bus Tour with a stop in Raleigh on March 2nd. Chris and his family are well aware that lupus is one of the cruelest, most mysterious diseases on earth. It can strike without warning, has unpredictable and sometimes fatal effects, and has no known cause or known cure. The Lupus Foundation of America embarked on a cross-country quest to solve the cruel mystery of lupus and end its devastating impact.

Wilcox Surprises Students at Hoops for Heart

Reading, Massachusetts. March 19, 2013. While the Celtics enjoyed a day off, Chris Wilcox and former teammate Keyon Dooling surprised a middle school in Reading, Massachusetts during their 5th Annual Hoops for Heart event. On Thursday, March 7th Dooling and Wilcox visited Coolidge Middle School and joined over 400 students to share Wilcox’s story and encourage students to lead active and healthy lives. Hoops for Heart is a national fundraising program that promotes physical activity, heart healthy living, and community service to children.

Boston, Massachusetts. February 20, 2013. Throughout the month of February Boston Celtic Chris Wilcox and his wife Tiffany are teaming up with The American Heart Association to help the nation GO RED in support of the nearly 500,000 American women fighting heart disease each year. From social media campaigns to visits to schools and the legislature, Chris and Tiffany are working to turn Boston’s green nation RED to raise awareness about heart health.

Terps Perform in Inaugural Parade

University of Maryland BandWASHINGTON, D.C. January 29, 2013. Chris Wilcox was a key part of the 2002 Maryland National Championship Team, and will always be a proud Terrapin. While Chris and his family celebrated the Inauguration of President Obama on MLK Day, it was a treat to see his alma mater's marching band leading the celebratory Parade through Washington. The Mighty Sound of Maryland beat out thousands of applicants to perform in the 57th Inaugural Parage, the fifth inaugural appearance for the century-old marching band.

Children and teens from the Home for Little Wanderers were invited to the Healthpoint Practice Facility on Sunday, December 23rd to play basketball, board games, and meet the Celtics.

Wilcox Sponsored Hometown Pancake Supper

WHITEVILLE, NC. November 5, 2012--Wilcox always supports his hometown of Whiteville, North Carolina. While he was not able to attend this year's Pancake Supper at Whiteville High School, he made sure that 100 senior citizens could by sponsoring them. The Whiteville Civitan Club hosted the Pancake Supper on November 5th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Wilcox's former high school, where he hosts his summer basketball camp and led the basketball team to the 2A State Championship Title his junior year.

Wilcox Supports Premier Youth Football Program

BALTIMORE, MD. October 30, 2012--The Baltimore based Overlea Football League has all new gear and equipment for the 2012 season, thanks to a sponsorship from Chris Wilcox. Part of the Mid Maryland Youth Football and Cheerleading League, the Overlea League consists of 13 teams with 20 kids each. The program strives to be the premier youth football program in Maryland with its strong leadership, volunteers, and some of the best coaches in the area. At Overlea, it is not about being the best but giving your best effort on and off the field. They follow the motto that adversity builds character.

Tiffany Kicks Off the Boston's "Walk for Lupus Now"

After cutting the official purple ribbon at the Boston Commons Parkman Bandstand, Tiffany spoke to the crowd and introduced Lexi Buswell, an 11 year old diagnosed with Lupus in 2011.
